I have sold Wendy Makin for many years now, I love the simplicity of her designs and my bride's reaction when they try on one of her dresses and realise they can be comfortable, feel beautiful and not compromise on style or wow factor.

Prioritising being comfortable ( comfortable is the most used word on my brides-to-be list)is important for Brides-to-Be. You want to wear a light wedding dress, a dress that doesn’t need faffing with all the time. You put it on and forget about it, knowing you look the best version of yourself. Then Wendy Makin could be your dress designer.

Fabrics in both the Wendy Makin and French Collection are of the finest quality with beautiful touches added such as Pearl buttons, Lace sleeves and pockets. Both collections are designed by Wendy in her Melbourne studio. The French Collection is a softer collection with Tulles and Lace, a more romantic feel and her core collection is mainly Crepe, Satin and Mikado a more modern look.

I feel both of the collections lend themselves to either country or town weddings, intimate or grand-scale, church or registry office. Accessorised with a lace- edge cathedral-length veil or a simple pearl hairband. That's something we can explore at your appointment or revisit later in an accessory appointment looking at veils, hair accessories and shoes.
